The purpose of our home is to make our life better. One way we can determine if it is serving that purpose effectively is to ask: "Is our whole home orderly and contributing meaningfully to our daily routine?" Go though each room, every closet and ask this. 

The things that we no longer have any use for should be discarded, donated, or gifted. The things remaining need to be arranged in a way that makes sense according its use and in a way that will keep it in good condition. 

This task requires a lot of time - especially if optimizing the whole house.  But it is worth it when on a day to day basis all of the things around you helps your life flow better.

So while you have all of your things pulled out, it is a great time to get in those closets, basement, and garages to vacuum and thoroughly clean up any dust or debris that has collected through the year.
